Day One - Competition

With my sincerist apologies I wasn`t able to update the results from the Ballrooms today...just to let you all know what an exciting day it was.

Camryn started us off with a recall in Group A and Macaela also did in Group B. What this means is that both these Dancers placed in the top half of their groups.

Jessie and Jayne had a great day as well and danced absolutely amazing, they had a great day and experience at their first Nationals. We are all so very proud of them for all their accomplishments this year.

Michael received a recall and danced in his group, we were lucky enough to see Michael dance his Set Round.

In the Awards Ceremony tonight we had lots to be excited about Mickey and Minnie both joined the festivities and celebrated with all the dancers.

Results are as follows...

Camryn Cross 25th. U10 A Girls
Maceala Bradley-Tse 13th U10 B Girls- World Qualifier
Michael Yap 17th. U20 Mens- World Qualifer

We couldn`t be prouder of all our NPIDA Dancers today, we can`t wait to see how the rest of the week goes.

Last Chance Practice

Well today was the last chance to get in any extra practice time....the girls had a short practice this moring followed by a swim at the Grotto Pool. Then tonight Macaela, Michael and Jessie took some more time and ran through their dances one more time. We left Alex and Jeesica in the practice room to run through their paces with Nora for the first time since they arrived.

Tomorrow is the big day for Camryn, Jayne, Jessie, and Macaela all competing in the
U10 Girls age group which has been divided into two groups of only 77 dancers...whooo hooo. This is small compared to the U9 Group Macaela danced with last year of 138 dancers. Camryn starts the Girls off at 8:00 and J,J & M start at 10:00. Michael is also dancing tomorrow in the Mens U20 of 36 dancers in between the girls starting at 11:00.

Well that is it for tonight, I'll post tomorrow as soon as I can with any information or pictures of our fabulous Dancers!

Orlando Training - Day 1

Happy Canada Day everyone!

Today was a dance day...well a training day. Nora called for a 9:00 practice and the Girls sure were eager to hit the floor hard, literally! We saw Mackenzie, Camryn and Jayne as we walked from the Swan Hotel over to the Dolphin Hotel to meet Nora. The Girls were as usual happy to see each other and obviously excited that it was here in Orlando. This trip has been talked about since the moment we all left Nashville last year after Nationals and since the Western Canadians in Edmonton in November. The Dancers have been looking forward to this all year and have prepared and trained themselves daily, weekly and monthly to be ready for this event. In less than 48 hours, 36 to be exact we will have our first 4 NPIDA Dancers giving it their all and putting all her heart and soul on the dance floor. Followed by our very experienced Michael who will also be dancing up a storm on Saturday. What an exciting day the first day at NAN's will be for all of us, stay tuned for daily updates and photos.

First NAN's Post

Hi everyone and welcome to the first NAN's Post

It is June 30th and only 3 days away from the 2010 North American Championships starting. The dancers are slowly starting to arrive...Nora and Family are arriving tonight as I type and Michael and Suzanne arrived earlier today. If I remember correctly the Dent, Cross and Hebert Families also arrive today sometime. The next to arrive will be Courtney and Stephanie and the Game Family on Friday followed by Jadyn and Sue, Catalina and Claudia and the McKay Family on Saturday. After that I can't quite remember the order....but I do know that it will be a very busy place here starting tomorrow.

I am going to try and put updates on this blog on a daily basis and on the competition days twice a day for all our happy followers. I hope you enjoy following our absolutely talented group of NPIDA Dancers on their 2010 NAN's Experience.
